Sandbox

• The Mechanism: Non-linear, open-world freedom where the game does not force you down a specific strategic path.
• Gameplay: The board gives you a vast world and multiple completely viable ways to earn victory points. You can win by becoming a peaceful merchant, a vicious bounty hunter, an expert explorer, or a political diplomat. The joy comes from setting your own goals and watching how the open ecosystem reacts to your freedom.
• Example Board Games: Xia: Legends of a Drift System, Outer Rim (Star Wars), Western Legends, Merchants & Marauders, Fallout
