Tile Laying

Tile Laying Games:
• The Mechanism: The game board doesn’t start fully formed. Instead, players draw and place cardboard or wooden tiles face-up onto the table to expand the playing area dynamically.
• Gameplay: Tiles usually feature landscape features like roads, rivers, or castle walls. When placing a tile, you must match its edges to the existing tiles on the table (e.g., a road must connect to a road). Players score points by completing features, surrounding specific areas, or building the longest continuous paths.
• Example Board Games: Carcassonne, Isle of Skye, Cascadia, Lanterns: The Harvest Festival, Alhambra
