Drafting Games:
• The Mechanism: Players select one card (or tile) from a limited pool, then pass the remaining options to the next player.
• Gameplay: The most famous variation is “pick and pass.” You are handed a hand of seven cards, look at them, choose one to keep for your strategy, and hand the remaining six to the player to your left. At the same time, you receive a hand of cards from the player on your right. This mechanism keeps everyone playing simultaneously, completely eliminating downtime while forcing you to decide whether to take a card that helps you or “hate-draft” a card to deny it to an opponent.
