Deck Builder Games:
• The Mechanism: Players construct and improve their custom card decks during the active gameplay loop, rather than before the game starts.
• Gameplay: Everyone starts the game with an identical hand of very weak cards (usually basic currency). A central market features stronger cards. On your turn, you spend your basic currency to buy better cards, which go straight into your discard pile. When your draw deck runs dry, you shuffle your discard pile—incorporating your powerful new purchases—creating a stronger, more efficient deck as the game progresses.
